Do i need to jack up the engine to remove the oil pan on a 4.0 liter motor on a 1990 ford ranger?

i own a shop ,and yes you,ll have to raise it up and put wooden blocks in between the motor mounts before you loosen the pan on it after you have it propped up there then it will come off but barely, there isn't much room in that one to get the pan off because of the way the oil sump goes in to the pan in it,good luck, its not a fun job to do,hope this helps.Do i need to jack up the engine to remove the oil pan on a 4.0 liter motor on a 1990 ford ranger?

yes
Yes from the top.Remember to torque it just like the manuel says.
It's easier if you pull the engine but then you need more equipment and patience.
I haven't seen, a 4.O liter in a 90 Ranger, on the Explorer

you don't.
DEPENDS, IS THE VEHICLE ON FLATS? OR IF YOU LIKE WORKING IN THE MUD OR IF YOU LIKE TO WORK IN A CLEAN AREA YOU CAN FIX IT IN

MEANING ITS GOING TO TAKE YOU AWHILE
Yes by all means or you will never be able to clear the oil pump pick up tube that hangs down into the pan area. Especialy if it's a 4 x 4
Yes and very high so that you can clear the oil pump and yes they did put a 4.0 in a 1990 Ford Ranger.
