This is the 2nd time using using this bolt. It was bought 2 oil changes ago and is still in good condition. I removed the bolt, when the oil had drained I tried screwing the bolt back in, but the threads were not hooking. Do I need a new oil pan?Cant screw oil pan bolt back in?
You may have messed up the threads in the oil pan, but you don't have to replace the oil pan to remedy the problem. You can purchase self-tapping oil plugs at most parts stores - just make really sure that you put the new one in straight so that the head seals against the pan evenly.Cant screw oil pan bolt back in?
Try using a socket to get it started, so you know it is going in strait. Probably just not lining up right. Using a socket will make it easier to make sure it is going in strait. If that doesn't work you may need a new pan, but I'll bet its just not lining up.
';Help!'; products makes a repair kit for this. They are usally in a red package at your auto parts store.
This has to be viewed to honestly determine your problem
