How can you prevent oil from splashing in a frying pan?

I plan on frying (or cooking in oil) some breaded chicken chunks and I always get splattered by the hot oil.

What can I do to prevent it?How can you prevent oil from splashing in a frying pan?
The best way to prevent this is to use a deep pot like you would normally cook stew in. The sides are deep enough that the spatters are contained within the pot. Also you may be using a frozen product which spatters more due to the ice crystals in the hot grease. How can you prevent oil from splashing in a frying pan?
Gently lower the chicken into the oil, don't drop or plop them in.

Are they store made and frozen? If there are ice crystals on them then they will splatter.

Even one ice crystal or tiny drop of water in hot oil can result in a lot of splashing.

Check the temp, although I haven't seen that as such a big issue for splattering as it is for over borwing the outside and keeping the inside raw.

No matter what frying makes a mess. Get a splatter shield. I have even found them at the dollar store. It is just a screen with a handle that fits over a skillet or pot anytime you don't want grease and oil flying out.
Get a splatter screen. They sell them at Wal Mart for a couple bucks. Once you put the meat in, put the screen over. It will keep most of the pan from splattering out.
There is a splater shield at the kitchen stores

there is another much simpler just a round fine mesh screen
If the heat of the oil is too high it will splash. Also if there is any water coming in contact with the oil. Keeping the oil at a moderate heat level will lessen the chance of splash back.
It's caused by the water in the food turning to steam.

You can get a splash guard at the dollar store cooking aisle.

They are round to fit your pan %26amp; made of metal mesh.
You can use a lower heat, but my best recommendation is to wear old clothes or an apron
There is a great product made for just this. It is a screen the sits on the skillet like a lid and works great.
it's the water in whateva your frying. try a good set of tongs!!! keeps your hands away from the oil.
Low heat and use one of those flat, ';mesh'; screens. It'll help a little bit at least ;) http://www.organize-it-online.com/images鈥?/a>
purchase a spit guard
