2000 camaro oil pan gasket leak?

so from 1-10 (10 being the hardest) how hard is it to change an oil pan gasket leak on my camaro. i was told i had to lift the engine a few feet. ( so would i have to loosen the motor mounts or what?2000 camaro oil pan gasket leak?
my best advice is to make damn sure it's the oil pan gasket and not the intake manifold gasket or something else up top leaking and running down the ends of the block. I just read the service manual procedures and it looks like for both the 3.8L and the 5.7L you pretty much have to drop the engine cradle down to access the oil pan. Not to mention that they use RTV sealant on both sides of the new oil pan gasket so chances are you are going to get RTV all over everything. And if you have any oil anywhere the RTV goes, it won't seal and you'll be doing it all over again. So make sure it's the oil pan gasket leaking. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give this an 8.2000 camaro oil pan gasket leak?
Could be close to a 10. If you are lucky you can lift the engine maybe 12 inches or so. That would probably mean taking your exhaust loose and wires too in order not to break them. It would prefer just taking the engine out. That way you could do the job right the first time.
autozone.com has a online repair manual with step by step instructions and diagrams to help you... it should not be hard if you follow directions
Try to tighten each bolt uniformly slightly tighter. You could use a torque wrench. Then see how fast it still leaks. A slow leak may be acceptable.
It's an oil pan gasket, it ain't rocket science !
take it to masterstone and stop trying to fix it your damn self! just a suggestion
