I think i found it just in front of the transmission but am not sure if that is it or not. Dont want to drain transmission fluid.Where is the oil pan located to change oil in a 2006 ford ranger, 2.3 4 cyl.?
wel oil pan on the motor which is not the transmission motor is in front of transmission cant see where anyone would miss ones about two feet long and big 10inches deep where ones only about a foot square and two inches deep oil pan the biggest one up front and most transmission dont have a drain plug but some do

Yes it is in front of the tranny and it will have a bolt that you take out to drain it and they tranny probably wont have a drain plug most trannies dont.
You found it. It has a plug that can be removed. Buy a book at an auto parts store.
you only have 2 pans. the oil pan is dished out and the transmission pan is flat. besides the oil pan is the only 1 that has a drain plug.
