Im trying to change my oil this morning and im having some trouble getting off this bolt on my 07 charger.I sprayed a little wd-40 on it,still isn't cooperating.Any suggestions, and by the way im using this socket kit.Whats the best way to take of the bolt on my oil pan? 07 dodge charger.?
those are on there pretty tight ,just use the right socket on it and make sure your loosing it instead of tightening it,it really shouldn't be that hard of a job on that one to get the oil pan off,if its under warranty and it has mechanical problems i wouldn't be removing it, a dealer would be doing it at no cost, good luck.Whats the best way to take of the bolt on my oil pan? 07 dodge charger.?
it is probably torqued and has grime holding it in place. Using a ratchet is good. While you have the socket on the bolt, take a hammer and tap the head of the ratchet. This vibration should help loosen it up. You might get someone else to help you because you don't want to dick around and strip the bolt.
If this is the first time the oil has been changed I hear they use Gorilla's at the factory to put the drain plug in. A lot of times it's on there way too tight. Use a 13mm socket wrench and put all of your strength into it.
are you sure you are using the correct sockets? Most newer cars require metric sockets instead of standard sockets. It is also possible that you have rounded out or stripped the head of the bolt
try turning it the other way lefty loosey righty tighty
or go to a shop let them do it
cost about same price oil change at home oil change at a shop best just go to a shop have it done if they break it they fix it dont have to say you tried and couldnt do it
Use a 13mm socket preferably six point.
stop using your metric set and buy an imperial one.
Make sure the bolt isnt stripped and use a 13MM
