the pan was glued up in the first place, you will need to knock it loose, use a rubber mallet and smack it a couple of times. it will come loose if you hit it hard enough and if you have all of the bolts out.How due i take off a oil pan on a 1998 grand am took everything off and the pan would not come off?
if all the bolts are off and it's not budging, probably need to lightly bump it all around the perimeter of the gasket (where the pan meets the body) with a short rubber mallet. again, lightly bump it, and don't pry with sharp objects. How due i take off a oil pan on a 1998 grand am took everything off and the pan would not come off?
Could be that the crankshaft counterbalance lobes are in the way and if you rotate the engine a bit, that might clear enough for the pan to move and drop down. I've seen this in other cars, so I'm guessing this for your Pontiac. I'd look in Chiltons if I were you, to find out for sure.
