How difficult is it to replace oil pan gasket in 2004 chrysler sebring 2.7 engine?

thanks to any info you can give on how to also. How difficult is it to replace oil pan gasket in 2004 chrysler sebring 2.7 engine?
How much time do you have? This is a difficult process. Your 2.7 has an exhaust pipe that runs right next to the bolts you have to remove. Some things you need to be able to do are support the motor and be able to remove the exhaust pipe from the car. If you have not done it before it's likely to take you the better half of a Saturday to do the job. I would recommend getting the repair book from your local auto parts store. This will give you step by step instructions and often give you helpful hints about how to do the job quickly. They will also have pictures to help point out things you need to be mindful of. It also helps with reassembly when it's late at night and your working on that 8th beer. Hope this helps. How difficult is it to replace oil pan gasket in 2004 chrysler sebring 2.7 engine?
It would be very difficult. I just got through replacing an oil pan gasket for an '92 Chevy S10. We had to pull the engine and you will have to plug as many holes as you can. Before you do that you will have to drain the oil out of it. If you dont plug it up oil will be leaking out of every hole there is, and you dont want that big of a mess. Do you? If you have the money your best bet is to take it to a shop mechanic to have them do it. It usually takes about 10-24 hours for a proffesional to do it. It took me 3 days.
it's time consuming. you need to disconnect a whole bunch of things including seperate the engine from the mounting brackets, so that you can raise the engine up with a jack, then put blocks of wood between the engine and the mounting brackets, so you can remove the jack, and lower the oil pan far enough to remove the gasket.

best thing to do is buy a chilton and/or haynes repair manuals for that particular car so you don't leave anything out and have what you need to put it all back together again.
