Can i use sealent instead of oil pan gasket?

i want to know if instead of buying a expensive oil pan gasket i just can lace the whole outer ends and surfaces of the oil pan with a silicone sealent and just use that if done acurate enough? Can i use sealent instead of oil pan gasket?
Sure.

If you do it right.

All 97-later F150s use RTV Grey sealant as the 4.2L v6 and the 4.6/5.4L v8 engines do not use actual gaskets..Can i use sealent instead of oil pan gasket?
yes you could it works good just make sure it isn't used for exhaust gasket or head gaskets they'll melt only use on the engine's cooler parts
actually you get a better seal with silicone,if you ever get the chance to see an engine that has been built by a pro, that's all they use, just be sure to put it on like a gasket, and give it a few minutes to harden before you bolt it down, that way it acts like a gasket.
You can, but don't overdo it. The excess will just squeeze out and pieces can end up plugging the screen in the oil pump pickup, which can starve the engine of oil.
